Dear Friends and Supporters,

As many of you know, one of our most important program areas is to provide support for Muslim political prisoners who have been unjustly incarcerated in the so-called “war on terror.” Thanks to your generous support, our Sixth Annual Ramadan Gifts Program was a success! This year, we were able to provide a gift of $100 to over 200 prisoners to help them place calls to their families, buy food, and other necessary personal items from the prison canteen.

1d4e5259-9e86-4382-85ef-ba24cdb83380Reem Jayyousi, our Program and Communications Coordinator, is also one of these affected family members.  Her father was unjustly incarcerated in a Communications Management Unit where he was allowed only one 15-minute phone call per week, and NO contact visits with his family. Please listen to this webinar  to learn about CMUs and to hear Reem’s story of how she was affected by this experience.

A Look At Communication Management Units (CMUs) in the United StatesReem’s portion begins at minute 14:29. She is preceded by Rachel Meeropol, Center for Constitutional Rights attorney leading the legal challenge to Communications Management Units.

You can also visit  our Launchgood Campaign page for  photos from past conferences and further information on the impact of your generous contribution!

The situation is urgent! To date, we have raised almost $8,000 but to make this conference successful, we need to raise $20,000. With Ramadan nearly  over, please consider donating $500, $250, $100 or any other amount to help us empower families and stand up to government repression! All donations are zakat-eligible and tax-deductible (Tax ID 45-1653796).

In solidarity,
The NCPCF Team
