AMA Foundation DNC 2012 Policy Forum: Thought Crimes & Preemptive Prosecutions, Charlotte, NC, September 2012. (131 min.)
The American Muslim Alliance (AMA) held a Multi-Event Hospitality Suite open to delegates and the public during the 2012 Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, NC.
In the desire to promote public discourse and place the twin issues of Civil Liberties & Human Rights squarely on the American electoral agenda, the AMA Foundation and the California Civil Rights Alliance (CCRA) presented a DNC 2012 Policy Forum on “Thought Crimes and Preemptive Prosecutions” featuring speakers from prominent organizations dedicated to defending and protecting civil and human rights:
Ms. Sara Flounders, Co-Director, International Action Center (IAC)
Mr. Steve Downs, Executive Director, National Coalition to Protect Civil Freedoms (NCPCF)
Mr. Khalil Meek, Executive Director, Muslim Legal Fund of America (MLFA)
The AMA believes that political power is not a function of numbers alone but is a combined product of initiative, innovation and determination. We therefore need to unlock our creative energies into meaningful steps towards political empowerment of the American Muslim community.
